This is so good. The #1 mistake he talks about is my absolute biggest pet peeve regarding ground & pound. Not only does holding the head help keep the guy from bucking (as was pointed out) but it also allows you to take advantage of pushing your weight forward, adding pressure to his head and landing strikes more accurately. Hitting the same spot over and over again compounds pain tremendously.

Be wary of getting bit while doing this in street fights, although in “life protection” situations, you should be sinking your thumb into his eye socket while holding the head and raining punches.
